That’s What She Said is an online and print magazine at the University of Bristol. Established in 2011, TWSS offers a creative and vibrant platform for the university’s finest feminist talent to discuss the issues and topics that matter most through articles, poetry, photography, art and more!

Our team is made up of students at the University of Bristol and we welcome contributions from students of the university past and present, as well as from the wider Bristol community. Our magazine aims to platform marginalised voices and foster a supportive community of creative women and non-binary folk on campus, amplifying the voices that often go unheard.

In January, we began a monthly column, ‘Girlhood’ through which the team navigates the experience of growing up, and we are always looking for interesting pitches for our online magazine. We also frequently commission artwork and written pieces for our magazine on our socials and we encourage anyone who wants to share their creativity to respond – no experience is necessary!

We regularly host events including pub quizzes, writers’ workshops, and Drink and Draw evenings. We are continually learning more about the nuances of feminism through bringing people together and sharing our experiences; it’s through the sharing of these experiences that we can grow as a movement towards the equality which we are striving towards. Signing up for TWSS membership will give you discounts on these events, and on our twice-yearly print magazines.

If you’d like to contribute or just want to find out more, check out the ‘Contribute’ tab on our website or drop us an email at twss.magazine@gmail.com.
