This International Women’s Day Bristol Feminist Society and Student Action For Refugees society hosted an event, at which Bristol based feminist artist Ru Wormington led a life drawing class – with a twist! This time, rather than drawing a model, we were our own muses! It was a celebration of women, creativity and freedom of expression in all their forms, and a truly empowering event. The funds raised from tickets were donated to three incredible charities in Bristol: Project Mama, Refugees Women of Bristol and The Pachamama Project. We have collected here some of the art produced by the event attendees, along with some interviews over the next few days with the charities involved and with Ru about the amazing work they do. We hope this collection will provide some inspiration, some positivity, and some much needed hope in feminism and in the power of women. Enjoy!
